Central Subiaco Precinct Parking Plan
This survey now closed - thank you to those who provided feedback, opinions and suggestions.
It is time for the City to review its Central Subiaco Precinct Parking Plan and we invite you to provide your feedback.
The current Central Subiaco Precinct Parking Plan was endorsed by Council in 2019. Since then parking controls throughout the Central Parking Precinct have been largely effective, however further refinements are required to adapt to changes in the area such as the removal of all day parking immediately adjacent to King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) and increased business activity near Duke Street.
The boundaries of the Central Subiaco Parking Precinct are established by the south side of Bagot Road from Railway Road to Thomas Street, Thomas Street to Nicholson Road, the north side of Nicholson Road from Thomas Street to Railway Road and the east side of Railway Road from Nicholson Road to Bagot Road (see map).
The draft 2024 Central Subiaco Precinct Parking Plan which shows the proposed parking conditions can be viewed in the document library. This plan has been developed to provide a parking control model that is appropriate for the mix of users in locality , empathetic towards the needs of the community and in line with City principles.
A table of proposed parking refinements and reasoning for these proposed changes, can be viewed in the project document library.
The key changes of the plan are:
- Lowering the time restriction on residential streets surrounding King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) from 2P to 1P, including Lawler Street, Federal Street, Douglas Avenue, Hensman Road and Hamersley Road.
- Install paid parking with a 3P (first hour free) on Duke Street between Rokeby Road and the cul-de-sac.
- Reduce the 2P control on Duke Street from the cul-de-sac to Coolgardie Street to 1P.
- Reduce the 2P control on Coolgardie Street to 1P.
- Install a Loading Zone on the western side of Rokeby Road between Duke Street and Nicholson Road.
- Install a Loading Zone on the north side of Bagot Road near the intersection of Railway Road.
- Remove parking on the northern side of Lawler Street between Railway Road and Federal Street.
- Reduce the time control on Heytesbury Road from Campbell Street to Rupert Street from 2P to 1P.
- Extending the 1P control along Rokeby Road to Nicholson Road.
