Why is the City conducting a feasibility study into a City-supported Subiaco Artists' Hub?
At the Ordinary Council Meeting on 23 November 2021, Council requested a preliminary report on the feasibility of a City-supported Subiaco Artists' Hub. Council asked for the report to cover:
a) overview of the Arts Sector in Subiaco (i.e., estimated number of artists and cultural workers, performers and businesses based or working in Subiaco);
b) possible sites and tenure;
c) possible funding sources;
d) possible functions of an Artists’ Hub;
e) possible organisational structures;
f) resources needed for the establishment and subsequent operation of the Artists' Hub;
g) types of support that the City may be able to offer;
h) a recommendation for how (and in what form) the Artists' Hub can be progressed - having regard to the above, and any other relevant factors; and
i) possible measures of impact (i.e., how the benefits of Council support for an Artists’ Hub would be measured over time).
What amount do creative practitioners usually pay to rent studio, workshop or other space?
