The Subi East project is the redevelopment of the area that includes Subiaco Oval, Kitchener Park, Mueller Park, the former Princess Margaret Hospital site and West Leederville train station. DevelopmentWA is the State Government agency leading the project.

Major above-ground demolition works at Subiaco Oval are now complete with the grandstands, light towers and associated buildings all removed.

The playing surface will be restored to its traditional AFL dimensions and interim landscaping will be installed around the site, including native vegetation on the oval surrounds and paths to facilitate community access to the oval.

This is the beginning of the master planning phase for the Subi East Redevelopment.

The master planning process will build on the Vision Concept consultation undertaken in early 2019 to develop a detailed long-term plan for Subi East, including comprehensive information on the site's layout, development type and public spaces.

DevelopmentWA is now calling for input from the community to share their memories and stories of Subiaco. This feedback will help DevelopmentWA understand, directly from the community, key themes that could help shape place-making opportunities and inform the masterplan.

During February and March 2019 LandCorp sought feedback from the community on the initial Vision Concept plan. A total of 505 comments were received throughout the engagement period and more than 6,000 visitors viewed the site. The feedback has been collated into a report which outlines the key findings.
