Fourth community working group meeting cancelled
The fourth and final workshop with the Local Planning Polices (LPP) Community Working Group (CWG) was moved to an online format (to limit face-to-face contact) and planned to be held last week. The low number of CWG members who had indicated their availability for the online workshop meant that the workshop had to be cancelled. The City understands that the current situation with COVID-19 is evolving very quickly and makes planning very difficult. We understand that CWG members, like everyone else, is faced with significant changes to their normal life, their working arrangements and their priorities. This takes time to adjust and we understand that the LPP Review CWG may not be at the forefront of most people’s minds.
The City’s Planning Services team will continue to work on the draft local planning policies based on the great content already generated from the first three workshops. If the CWG is interested, the City will consider running workshop four at a time when life has settled into a renew routine for most people.
Once the draft local planning policies have been prepared, they will be referred to Council for consideration and for adoption for public advertising. At this point the wider community will be able to comment on the draft policies before they are reviewed in light of submissions received and presented to Council for final adoption.
The City would like to thank the CWG for their contribution to the Local Planning Policy review.
