Special Council Meeting 23 January 2020 – LPS5 update

A Special Council Meeting of the City of Subiaco was held on Thursday 23 January 2020.
You can view the meeting agenda now on the City's website, with minutes to follow.

The meeting considered a range of motions in relation to the Minister’s consideration of draft Local Planning Scheme No. 5 (LPS5).

Following the meeting a letter was sent to the Minister for Planning and the Chair of the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) requesting deferral of final approval and/or gazettal of the LPS5, until the review of the City’s local planning policies (currently underway) is progressed sufficiently to achieve the protections the Minister suggested in her letter of 16 January.

You can view the modified LPS5 and Local Planning Strategy, as well as the history of the process and copies of the letters sent to and received from the Minister in the document library or by clicking here.

Except as set out in the letters detailed above, there have been no discussions between officers of the City of Subiaco or the Mayor and representatives from the Minister for Planning’s office or the WAPC regarding the meeting proposed in the letter after 6 January 2020.
